My little fish

Well my little tadpole we are finally make some great progress in Swimming. Last week we moved you up to the next class in swimming and you are doing well with miss Lucille. There were a few whimpers going in the water but they quickly disolved as you started having fun. This week the teacher said you are even ready to go up to the next dragon fish class next term. When I took you swimming after class I was so impressed with how well you swam - you can now properly swim underwater without any assistance of floaties!

You have such a funny little personality, I don't know where you have picked this up from but, now when asked to do something you give a big sigh and say,"Alllllright" with attitude and then give a big huff!

Last week at school you learnt how to say "Bonjour" not sure that you know what it means but you came home saying it to me all afternoon.

Last week we started "Operation get Sienna to sleep back in her own bed". The First night was terrible, I think you were up at least 50-100 times and you cried most of the night, telling me you were scared and needed a cuddle. It was very hard but I persisted and kept taking you back to your room. I wanted to cry, and everyone wanted to kill each other by the morning. The 2nd night was much better and you only got up once. Every morning now you get a star on your reward chart for being a good girl. It's been nearly a week now and you are now waking me up saying "I'm a good girl mummy". For the past few nights you have only woken up a couple of times and have gone back to sleep quite easily so I think we are nearly there! I would love for you to be sleepin through the night soon. Next operation is "operation no nighttime nappy". We will probably wait for you to settle in to your new sleep pattern and get some sleep ourselves for the next few weeks.

This morning was another classic it was pretty dull and overcast when we woke up this morning not to mention early. You looked at the window and said "Mummy where's morning". Obviously you were waiting for the sun to come up as that is what you associate the morning with.

I am very glad to say that we now have No more tears before school, the mere mention of school used to reduce you into a mess of tears and now you happily skip out the door ready for your fun and games.

My favourite Sienna song lyrics at the moment to are to Jingle Bells and Row Row Row your boat. You have replaced the lyrics with "oh what fum it is to ride on a slope en slope en sleigh" and
"Life is butter dream".

I do love your sense of humour and witty personality you love to be the centre of attention and you know when you are being funny and play the role of the joker whenever you can.

Heaven has a new angel

Well it's been nearly 2 weeks since your nana passed away. We were all here with her at her house in Willoughby and we were expecting it but it didn't make it any less sad. When the funeral directors came to take her away you asked me 'where's nana goin' and I told you she was going to heaven to be an angel. You looked at me quizzically and pointed at the undertakers car and said 'is that the Angel's car?' I'm not sure you rally understand what is going on as you have asked me a few times where nana is. My response is the same - she has gone to heaven to be an angel but she is always with you and will always be looking out for you. You can talk to her whenever you need to. The other night as you were drifting off to sleep you asked me if she was still at hospital? And I said no she was in heaven to which you replied, 'no she's not she's at the end of the bed' to which I replied 'is she? What does she say?' And you said she was singing and then started la la lahing.

I don't know whether you have no idea what is going on or, whether you are being decisively insightful, they say that children are very tuned into spirits and although on some occasions you do make things up most of the time you tell the truth. You even run in and tell me when you've done something naughty, like 'mummy I made a mess' or 'mummy I pushed Peston'. We all believe she is still here with us, Julie has had some strange signs that indicate she's still around.

The day nana passed away we went for lunch and a swim at uncle Michael's. You, Ellie and Heston had a wonderful time splashing around and it made a very sad day a bit more bearable. Sadly after a very tough few weeks we then both got sick and came down with a really terrible cold which for you turned into an ear infection. But both of us have managed to pass it on so we are both feeling a little better.

Saturday was your cousin Ellie's 5th birthday so we had a little party for her here. You loved playing 'parcel parcel' as you like to call it. On Sunday your cousins went home which was a bit of a relief as despite being good friends for 5 minutes it soon turns to chaos and you tormenting them and them yelling at you. They tend to stick together so I think we need to find you a little brother or sister so the numbers are even and you have someone to protect and to protect you.

Well, other big news is we are moving... Back into Nana's house - so we have a lot of work to do to clear space for all our stuff and make the "library" into a bedroom for you. We'll be there a while. I'm trying to get you excited about moving here as you keep telling me you ant to go home.
